We would like to give a huge welcome to our new Active School Committee Members who have joined us from Junior Infants for this year!

Room 2: Grace Dorney

Room 3: Violet Hogarty

Room 4: Clodagh Carty

Room 5: Lily Pringle

Room 6: Cian Gavin

We are sure our new members will be a fantastic addition to the committee. They have already been very busy starting Active Lines with all five new Junior Infant classes, learning our Active Song and taking part in the Super Troopers initiative, while also attending our Active Schools Meetings!

Thank you also to our all of our FANTASTIC Committee members from last year!! They did an excellent job helping us to introduce the Active School Programme into our school, organising and monitoring our equipment, taking full participation in all of our partnerships, initiatives and active school events.

Active Schools Slogan

Our Active Schools Slogan competition was ran in October 2018. Each of our fifteen classes generated their own Slogan and our Active School committee chose the winning slogan at our meeting....

RUN, JUMP, SKIP AND HOP. STAY FIT AND NEVER STOP!

The Active School Committee then organised a poster competition, where pupils designed a poster that was relevant to our slogan. A winner was chosen from each stream and you will see the winning posters all around our school!!

The winners were:

Junior Infants - Saoirse  Room 4

Senior Infants - Eli McGuirk Room 10

First Class - Gemma Lynch Room 14

Active School Committee

We would like to welcome our Active School Committee! Our committee is made up of one student from each class from Junior Infants to First Class. We will be meeting every fortnight or month to come up with lots of ideas for how to get SVDP more active. With the help of the committee, the whole school- staff and students- will be kept informed on our endeavours!
