Room 1 Junior Infants - 'Santa's Workshop' Aistear Theme

25th Jan 2019

In December we enjoyed a Christmas themed Aistear! The children played 'Santa's Workshop' at the Role Play corner, here they dressed up as Santa's little helpers, Santa, Mrs Claus and even the reindeer! They wrapped presents, designed toys, made toys and coloured wrapping paper, they took phonecalls in Santa's office and made some 'Naughty & Nice' lists! In the Construction area the children built North Pole themed buildings for example Santa's Workshop, a stable for the reindeer and the North Pole village itself. At Small World the students played with characters from the Nativity scene, recreating the night Jesus was born. At the Playdough station they used Christmas themed playdough mats to make gingerbread men, stockings, mince pies and more! At the Junk Art station the children designed and made their own toys - dolls, toy animals, cars, tanks, you name it, the elves built it! And finally at the Fine Motor Skills station the children coloured and cut out Christmas trees and decorations to make a nice festive picture. We hope you enjoy browsing through these photos!
